GALVESTON FISHING REPORT - CALM SEAS, BEAUTIFUL WATER, AND HUNGRY FISH!

Mother Nature has decided to give us a break this past week, and what was already good summertime fishing has now turned into some spectacular days fishing in Galveston. The speckled trout bite has been incredible, with red fish mixed into the box as well. The Galveston jetty and beachfront has been the best area for size of specks, while the bay and marsh is producing good numbers, with just allot of fish just under the size limit.

The clean, green water has made its way to the Galveston Beachfront. When this happens, fishing is on fire! This year it seems it took a little longer than usual for this to happen….. but it has and fishing in Galveston is off the charts! Our Galveston Jetty and Beach Front trips are producing quantity and quality speckled trout.

The redfish are mixed in, but have not really shown up in full force just yet. We are also hooking into Jack Crevelle, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, Gulf Trout, and SHARKS! Yes, the sharks are in Galveston now!

The Bays and Marshes of Galveston are very fun to fish this time of year, with very good numbers of redfish, flounder and trout. The flounder have once again made their presence known as they do each year during this time. Shad move into the bayous, and the flounder are hot on their tail, feeding up along the mud flats and ledges. It is quite a spectacle watching flounder perform air acrobats as they chase shad in the shallows. The size of the red fish and speckled trout we catch in the marshes generally are not as big as the jetty fish, but it is great fun for kids, and sea sickness is never an issue.

Our offshore trips are producing limits of King Fish, with ling and mahi mixed in as well. Kings will move with miles of the beach at times during July and August, and it is a blast catching these line screamers! We have a price blowout that will last throughout the summer for Six Hour King Fish for Four Anglers only $800. This is a great deal and great fun! We will fish near shore rigs, humps and wrecks no further than 35 miles out.

Night Time flounder gigging will really begin to lite off now that water clarity is improving and flounder move up into the shallows to feed. On our Galveston Summer Time Flounder Gigging trips, we will target flounder and will also gig as many blue crabs as you wish! Kids really enjoy this trip, and it is a great way to beat the heat!

Lots of great things to do here in Galveston, and Fishing should be top of the list! Give us a call and get in on a great day or evening of fishing with us! 409-739-8526
